EFMD-CEL Accreditation Renewal Process Successfully Completed!

The `Executive MBA` Program (EMBA), which is conducted primarily through the Internet, has been evaluated by the EFMD Cel (Program Accreditation for teChnology-Enhanced Learning) and the accreditation renewal process has thus been successfully completed.

At the close of 2006, the Executive MBA Program successfully completed the first EFMD-Cel evaluation and received accreditation in January 2007. This accreditation was awarded for a three-year long period, and during that time our institution carried out research in management sciences and in branches of internet technologies, while also engaging in a process of continual development and renewal. 

In the summer of 2009 the accreditation renewal process officially started with an application for renewal. As a first step, an application report was prepared and submitted to EFMD; this report included comprehensive information about all of the developments and advancements achieved since the first accreditation. Following the study of the report, in  January 2010 an auditing team comprised of two  EFMD auditors and one observer came to the KMI Göztepe Istanbul office where they conducted a two-day audit. At the end of this investigation we were informed that the findings had been very positive and that the process had been completed in a successful manner. The official notification is due to be given in March, 2010.

The EFMD ranks as Europe's best-known accreditation service provider in the field of management sciences. A highly respected foundation, this organization also provides accreditation for EFMD-CEL (CEL= teChnology-Enhanced Learning), teaching that is supported by technology enhanced services, and also represents the first organization to accredit distance learning MBA programs. Various institutions that have become renowned in the subject of distance learning, like the USA's University of Maryland and England's Open University, also have this accreditation. 

KMI is the only educational institution in all of mainland Europe that has EFMD-CEL accreditation!

England's Open University and Liverpool University, Singapore's U21, and America's  University of Maryland University College all have EFMD-Cel accreditation. KMI both has accreditation and is a member of the “teChnology Enhanced Learning” Consultation Board of the EFMD-CEL.

At this time, other than KMI, no other university/teaching institution in Turkey has been granted EFMD-CEL accreditation. This certification means that the KMI EMBA (Executive MBA) program accords with Europe's accepted EMBA quality.

Those who participate in the program receive the “European Foundation for Management Development” from EFMD, a Brussels-based accrediting authority specializing in the area of management education, a certificate that has global recognition.
