KMI collaborates with Michigan State University on distance education
Kavrakoğlu Management Institute (KMI) and Michigan State University (MSU) have jointly signed an agreement for “distance management development programs.” The signing ceremony was held in November, 2009 in the KMI office in Istanbul.
Within the framework of the agreement, the training programs developed by KMI will be included among the courses provided by the MSU Eli Broad Graduate School. The agreement also authorizes KMI to develop new content under the MSU name.
Distance learning constitutes an important part of the training programs being developed in the Middle East and the programs are being directed towards managers in both the Middle East and in Eastern Europe.
In a statement he gave after the signing, Dr. David J. Frayer, the Director of the MSU Manager Development programs, said that an important percentage of young managers spring from the digital generation and use internet technologies both intensively and interactively in many realms. Frayer said that young generation managers who are experiencing gaps in knowledge in the basics required in the world of business can utilize such internet medium training to develop their own skills and know-how, while saving both time and money and having the opportunity to most effectively benefit from academicians.
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kavrakoğlu, KMI Founder and Chairman of the Board, said that this significant partnership is vitally important from the perspective of KMI's mission of providing web-based management training to future managers from developing countries.
As is known, The KMI distance training programs, including the MBA program that has been recognized with EFMD CEL accreditation, have been translated into five different languages, including English.
