eduGate is a web-based software program that has been developed to plan, monitor, evaluate and report on all of stages of the training process, in short to “manage” the training / education process. While, from the perspective of the opportunities it provides, the program includes a full range of components related to the learning process, its flexible and parametric structure also allows it to be easily and quickly customized to meet the specific needs of the organizations utilizing it. And while permitting a full range of customizations, its structure, which is open to development, can be preserved.
Because it is web-based, it provides ease of use to institutions whose organizations encompass a wide geographical area, or those that provide services through service points that may or may not include branch organizations or licensed distributor networks. This system is available in any setting where the internet can be assessed.
Since 2001 this software has been utilized by many institutions and organizations for their training purposes, chief among them KMI. Over time the program has been transformed into a advanced tool, both in terms of technology and of the opportunities and benefits it provides.
The eduGate v3 version was developed in 2008 by using Microsoft’s newest software developing system. Thanks to its web-based features, the client does not have to download a program onto his or her own computer. In addition, because it uses AJAX technology, the program is assessed very quickly over the web. The software uses Microsoft’s latest developed database system SQL Server 2008, which allows for very fast and easy integration with other relational databases. Thanks to this feature, client integration with the program is eased by use of SAP or other special programs.
eduGate’s most important feature is that the primary aim of its development was for the creation of a distance learning (e-learning) environment. The program offers endless opportunities to integrate with, and to develop, e-learning processes. The program has also been seamlessly developed to be compatible with SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) 2004 standards, which represents one of the most important element of distance learning. At the same time, the program also has built into it the requisite elements of comprehensive information sharing and communication channels.
