Dündar Aytar began his career as an industrial engineer in the private sector, working both in Turkey and the US. He later moved on to pursue a career at the Turkish Industrial Development Bank and went on to become one of the foremost development and investment bankers in Turkey. He has acted as vice-president of two major banks and has taken part in the preparation of the Privatization Master Plan for Turkey, the Turkish Textile Sector Research Report, and also in the privatization process and sale of major state economic enterprises as well as directing several public offering projects. He was an advisor on the privatization of the Tunisian cement industry, and was responsible for the post-privatization restructuring of a major Turkish iron and steel works. Dündar Aytar has published two books on privatization and consulting. He is one of the founders and a former president of the Management Consultants Association of Turkey, and now heads the vocation committee.
In the Executive MBA programme he acts a content developer and as a moderator. He aims to pass on his experiences to the students so that will understand the motivation, reactions and the principles of the people they will interact with. Having worked with international finance organizations, he tries to reflect the correct behavioral patterns for successful relations with such organizations. He is researching the differences in the management styles of different nationalities for a book he intends to write on the Turkish Managers, the results of which are also reflected in his work for the Executive MBA programme.

Working as a World Bank consultant and vice-chairman of the Cukurova Metropolitan Area Urban Development project, his expertise in land development has extended to tourism industry investments. He continued his professional career in the airline industry as vice CEO of Pegasus Airlines and Istanbul Airlines. His scope of experience includes management and restructuring of companies, ranging from airlines to tourism investments and shopping malls, mergers and acquisitions and asset management. He is Turkish Representative of the Aviation Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, former chairman of the Turkish Aviation Foundation, and founding member of the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation. Currently, he is the project coordinator of the e-entrepreneurship project funded by the Leonardo da Vinci Programme of the EU.
In the Executive-MBA programme he acts as programme manager, content developer, case study narrator and workshop moderator. His experience as top manager in several companies/projects and activities as management consultant help him continuously to improve and update his knowledge. In the last two years he has contributed to the content creation/update of several courses, moderated more than 40 workshops in Turkey, Russia and Georgia and developed 6 case studies to be used in workshops.

Zehra Eliçin has held executive positions in leading companies in Turkey and has led many development projects including MIS, restructuring and productivity improvement and human resources management in numerous sectors of industry. She also took part in urban development projects supported by IBRD and developed income generation simulation models for municipal authorities, and has given consultancy to the World Bank. She has been with the KMI consulting team since 1997 and led many consulting projects. Her contribution has extended to development of management courses, including e-learning, as well as workshops for management training programs of KMI.
In the last two years, she is actively developing course content for courses geared towards entrepreneurship. She also oversees course contents from a pedagogic point of view. Additionally, she actively takes part in workshops, in virtual classroom activities and gives in-class seminars to supplement on-line course modules. She also acts as a consultant, where she continues to gather valuable up-to-date sector-specific experience, which she transfers to content development. Apart from her duties at KMI, she also teaches in-class courses to major corporations in Turkey and in the United Nations funded training programs in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Working as a Marketing executive in a glass conglomerate for 20 years, his fields of activities has ranged from industrial reinforcement materials to fine crystal tableware. He developed, together with his team, new product lines, brands, a new Corporate Identity and structured the internal support organisations for technical products of the ŞİŞECAM Group. He continued his career as General Coordinator of a leading apparel company and later as COO of the recycling NGO, ÇEVKO.
He lectures Bilgi University Communication students on Corporate Communication, and develops Final Project schemes, which examines communication practices of domestic and/or global companies.
In the executive-MBA program, he acts as a lecturer and workshop moderator and content advisor/developer. He also works as a Consultant in marketing, branding, product development and corporate culture and identity.

Berçin Gün has worked as engineer and later as manager in several companies in the automotive industry. But his career shifted from production to systems development and planning; his latest position being systems and organization group manager in a large conglomerate. During his career at KMI he has concentrated on quality management, as well as process design and total systems improvement and conducts training on business excellence models. He is one of the most experienced auditors of the Turkish Society for Quality.
He has been the project coordinator of developing Learning Management System (LMS) software (eduGate) for the KMI e-learning programs. Also he is member of the KMI research & development team.

She participates in consulting projects and seminars on marketing and advertising communication, and has written a book entitled "Integrated Marketing and Digital Advertising". She has completed a study on the subject of "Understanding of International Advertising Self-Regulation Systems" at Michigan State University, Graduate School of Management. Twice, student projects where she has acted as advisor have been selected for second place by the International Advertising Association. She has also served as jury member on the Turkish Tourism Ministry's Board for Tourism Promotion Campaigns.
In the last two years she has been studying cultural differences on advertising and deals with online-advergaming, the position of internet service providers in the Turkish market and influences on consumer behavior. She has presented some papers in the national and international conferences in Izmir, Antalya and Istanbul. She is a lecturer in Advertising Foundation's project that is funded by the EU.

A former academic and research fellow at the EU, Dr. Gedik has later taken on top level positions at several major state economic enterprises as well as executive positions in the private sector. Throughout his career he has worked in industries ranging from iron and steel to textiles, construction and banking. His expertise covers the fields of financial management, debt management, international finance, and international trade. In addition to his position at KMI he is a lecturer at several universities and serves as Secretary General of the Turkish Foreign Trade Association.
Based on his extensive experience in various positions covering both academia and the business world, Dr.Gedik acts as content developer for e-courses and lecturer in the MBA programme on a wide range of topics from globalization to current affairs, economics, foreign trade, WTO and EU issues as well as economic and social transformations.

He has been a key member in a number of management consulting projects in several manufacturing and service industries during the last 17 years. His field of expertise covers organization and systems development and corporate restructuring, change management, total quality management, business process improvement, production management techniques, multiobjective decision making and modeling, and operations research applications. He worked as the founder and managing director of a management consulting and training company for 4 years. Also he acted as the general coordinator of management consultancy projects in another consulting company for two years. He is a member of Turkish Society for Quality.
In the Executive-MBA programme he acts as content developer and workshop moderator. As an instructor, he has been teaching at various universities for 25 years in the fields of Total Quality Management, Operations Management and Multiobjective Programming and Planning. He has authored numerous articles andpapers on these subjects.
In addition to his teaching activities, his experience in managing various consulting projects in industry help him to continuously improve and update his knowledge.

The founder of Kavrakoğlu Management Institute (KMI) and Kavrakoğlu Education Technologies (KET), Dr. Ibrahim Kavrakoglu has served as Chairman of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Dean of the School of Engineering and Provost of Boğaziçi University.
Dr. Kavrakoglu twice accepted academic posts abroad. In 1973 and 1974 he was a visiting professor at Stanford University. In 1981, he returned to the United States as a visiting professor at the University of California Berkeley. With a dual appointment, he taught both in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operational Research and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He also carried out research in economic policy with use of the supercomputer at Berkeley Laboratories.
He has been the initiator and director of numerous national projects including development of Turkey's first National Energy Plan, the Housing Development Project and the Turkish Quality Movement.
In recent years, he has authored an initiative for carrying Turkey into the "Knowledge Economy" by developing of a strategic plan for "IT-based Development." . In addition to giving numerous seminars and conferences on management, he is active in the consultancy and e-learning activities of KMI, as CEO, chief strategist, course author and lectures.

Dr. Kubalı's areas of expertise cover strategic consultancy, corporate mergers and acquisitions, corporate and financial re-structuring, privatization preparation, international corporate alliance and partnership development and consulting to agriculturally dependent industries. Dr. Kubalı has held top executive and consultancy positions in major public and private sector corporations as well as teaching positions in leading universities. His most recent executive position was as CEO of Yaşar Group, a major Turkish industrial-financial group with sales of several billion USD. He has been granted the 'Golden Ant Award' by the University of Istanbul, award and membership to 'Alpha Sigma Nu' which is the highest award of merit by St. Louis University.
Currently he is a Professor at Izmir Ekonomi University and regularly gives conferences and publishes extensively on economics and business management. In KMI he acts as a senior consultant and helps to develop/update education/business consultancy strategies.

Melike Mermercioglu has been a consultant with KMI for over 10 years and was a member of the original design team of the Executive-MBA programme. Before joining Kavrakoğlu, Dr. Mermercioglu was an executive in the chemicals and textile sector in Turkey where she held various positions, including finance, purchasing, planning and strategy. She also worked as a quality assessment engineer in Turkey and as a trainee banker in London.
Dr. Mermercioglu has wide experience on strategic management, Total Quality Management, applications of Management by Projects, System Development, Quality Assurance /ISO 9000, Management Information Systems, Human Resources Systems, corporate structuring and reorganization, managerial audits, performance evaluation studies on sales channels, development of managerial and operational systems, simulation studies, research and education in various sectors. She is a competent practitioner of the "Company check-up" system developed by Kavrakoglu Consulting.
She has been the co-author of 3 books, namely The TQM Experience, New Competitive Strategies and The Turkish Industry (TUSIAD) and A National Strategy for Information Technologies (TUBISAD). She has also led various research projects.
In the Executive-MBA programme she is responsible from the Turkish contents. She is also working as a content developer and has worked on more than 30 e-courses.
Dr. Mermercioglu is the project leader of a research and development project, called "Development of the e-Learning Technology" funded by TUBITAK (The Scientific & Technical Research Council of Turkey). She is also working as a content developer for the "e-entrepreneurship project" funded by the Leonardo da Vinci Programme of the EU.

Having worked as a consultant in the private sector for more than ten years, Prof. Özgü chose a career in academia. He was a member of the team that formed the 'Open University' of Turkey, which has now reached an annual enrollment of 500,000. This led to his project of 'Open Lycee', which now has close to a million students. He is involved in educational projects at KMI as well as acting as board member on several foundations dedicated to education and entrepreneurship.
In the last two years he has participated in the development of the multimodal education projects targeted to the Turkish community residing in Western Europe. In KMI he is active as author of new course material, updating of existing course contents and contributing to the development and improvement of training/management consultancy strategies.

He worked at the Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade for 17 years and served as commercial counselor at the Embassy of Turkey in Cairo (1988-91) and in Moscow (1997-2000). Before joining Kavrakoglu in 2003, he was deputy director general of a construction company operating in Moscow for two years.
Aydın Sezer has considerable experience on the Russian and CIS investment climate. He regularly contributes to a daily newspaper (REFERANS) and periodicals on Turkish - Russian economic and commercial relations as well as the Russian and CIS economies. He contributes to the content development of course material and leads workshops. Additionally, he is coordinating the relations with commercial attachés of Turkey in Russia and Georgia as part of the global marketing effort of the company. He also acts as the Ankara representative of the company.

He served in the Department of Industrial Engineering, Boğaziçi University in Istanbul as a faculty member starting in 1976 and later served as Head of Department and Vice President. He worked as a NATO postgraduate research fellow in the Operational Research Department in Lancaster University. He was a member of the Executive Board of the Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Council and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Marmara Research Center. He served on the Executive Board of the Turkish Quality Association and chaired its Quality Award Committee. He also served on the Board of Boğaziçi University Alumni Association. He is a founding member of the Science Foundation and of the Turkish Informatics Foundation.
In 1999 he joined the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences in Sabancı University and established the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Programme there. He founded and became the Co-Coordinator of the Leaders for Industry Programme - a joint double degree graduate programme between Engineering and Management. He has also developed and offered a large number of training courses to industry on project management, quality management, and operationsmanagement.
He has consulted extensively on operations and quality management to firms operating in areas like steel, casting, glass, white goods, construction, and software development. He performed studies on competitive strategies and sectoral benchmarking in the Turkish automotive, cement, electronics, white goods, and machine manufacturing industries. As a member of UNICE Competitiveness Working Group in Brussels he contributed to its research in the areas of competitiveness, entrepreneurship, and innovation. He contributes to a Leonardo Project on strategy development for SMEs for cluster/network formation. Accomplished by a consortium of 8 European countries led by the Fraunhofer Institute in Karlsruhe. Currently he is managing a team of researchers from 3 different universities working on a 2-year project on innovation in manufacturing sponsored by the Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey.
He was an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Operational Research, Contributing Editor of the International Abstracts in Operational Research, Chief Editor of the Turkish Journal of Operational Research and served as the Guest Editor for several academic journals. Currently, he is the Associate Editor of the Turkish Journal of Operational Research and the Journal of Operations and Logistics. His primary research areas are competitiveness, innovation and manufacturing strategies, evolutionary algorithms, and project and manufacturing management. His contribution to executive MBA programme is in curriculum and content development.

Trained as an architect and engineer, Dr.Torum has worked on a number of projects with local and multinational corporations. Her later involvement with a major flag carrier extended beyond engineering and architecture and she took on various positions including project coordinator with the technical division in charge of cabin quality management, director in charge of training, director in charge of catering and acted as coordinator for various research projects. At KMI her expertise area covers planning and design of educational systems and online training projects. Dr. Torum regularly contributes to various newspapers and journals and participates in conferences and congresses.
Dr.Torum acts as content developer for e-courses and designs corporate oriantation programs. She also has a role of managing the corporate and indivudal MBA programs.
In the last two years she has contributed to the content design / update of several courses, assisted workshops. She has contributed to the need analysis for development of LMS. She has been writing articles to inform potential participants about e-learning programs and the activities.
